Issue 1: February 2013

Hi Linwood,

Well here we are at the start of 2013, in the midst of winter, awaiting the hope of Spring. We closed out 2012 with the election of the Trustees and Officers of the Linwood Community Council, followed by our yearly holiday get-together in December.

Your Linwood trustees and officers are a very dedicated group, who are constantly trying to improve our neighborhood. We have a number of projects and events planned toward the improvement of the Linwood community; our Community Garden, the 2nd Annual Linwood Community Picnic, neighborhood clean-ups, and involvement in the Flying Pig Mara-thon, to mention a few.

The Council needs your help with and support of our endeavors. First, we are asking for your e-mail address to add to our growing community database. In this era of fast-track information, your council can forward you the neighborhood information and happenings in a more efficient way, so you can be aware of and react to those activities that interest you the most.

Also, visit our community web page at www.LinwoodCommunityCouncil.org , as well as our Facebook page. We have been seeing more ‘hits’, and we are encouraged about the in-crease in activity and in the Linwood community. There is also on Face-book a page hosted by Bryan Phillips - Cincinnati's East End, Columbia-Tusculum, & Linwood – which contains some wonderful pictures of the area and the area residents and businesses. Your comments on either or both of these pages are certainly welcomed and appreciated, and if you have some historical photos or articles you would like to share, please feel free to post them as well..

Lastly, please remember that there is strength in numbers. So much can be accomplished in our neighborhood with the help of all of our residents and businesses. Let us know your concerns and give us your input via e-mail, or better yet, join us at our monthly meetings to get involved.

Hoping to see and/or hear from you soon,

Tom Salamon

President
Linwood Community Council
